Stonewear clay with raku clay twirling up, looking like a plant. With the burnt effect from the glaze, also comes through with a clear olive green.

The cups with the test glaze pieces.
It has been a long process going through all the test with the glazes, recipe, temperature, oxidation and reduction.

Here are a few "couple cups" that are glazed with the same glaze but fired differently.
The one on the left is oxidation and the right is reduction, in case you are interested.
The concept is to let loose, from a tight base, sharp angle and clean cut base transform to a loose body. With the body I just let loose when I throw, let the clay be what it wants to be, there are groves for your finger to find and set in.
The idea is that feeling from sitting up straight in the office on the office chair to going home and relax on your couch, I am hoping that would be the affect that it had on people when the hold the cup. The little special cup that you prefer to drink with, everything taste better in that cup.
Let loose - SMALL pieces oct exhibition
With the small exhibition coming in Oct at Northcote pottery- SMALL pieces, the collection is coming together.
