Lotus leaf bowls

I wonder which shape is better for to theme. The first one is round at the bottom and look like sun is shining on the young green leaf, with the water reflecting and glimmering.

This one is a little more on an angle to the base and the leaf look more matured, almost drying up at the edges; the green is really vibrant and strong.

Koi pond

I made a few Koi bowls, before I put it in the store, I line them up for a shoot, it look almost as if the koi are swimming in the pond with the black rock at the bottom.

I tried a different glaze to seal the bowl, to create the reflection of water glimmering. Seeing the motion of the water move as the koi swims around.

Setting up at Northcote pottery

What an exciting thing to do, seeing months work being up there, although it isn't much but it's a wonderful feeling and a sense of accomplishment.

I figure this is the best way to go, although it's not a gallery exhibition, but being able to set up a table full of my work is more than what I could have done at an group exhibition. Have to thank Northcote pottery and Emidio for putting me up for this.
Here's some photos of the set up.

The competition pieces at the store window.

That's me checking to see if everything is lined up, with my mouth open going "Humm..."

More checking, the stamps face front, it's a compulsive disorder's paradise .

Setting up some lights, you can see it's really a table full~

The display at the corner, where the lighting is best. Slightly worried that because my glaze are satin glaze, it really need those gallery spot light on them to see the spots coming out.

Lotus leaf bowl

If you have seen my previous work, you would know I love the lotus theme. Here is a bowl I developed of the lotus leaf. I left the porcelain area bare and glazed the leaved with the glaze I have recently developed. Although the glaze is temperamental, it worked out brilliantly, the slight different thickness, its a total different color
It look as if the lotus leaf was captured under the sun and reflected by the glimmering water.
